Chapter 5: +involvement rescue

Adapted into web novel format on Nov. 27, 2011 at 9:45 PM MST

The young girl turned out to be Tsukasa, and the green onion missiles were targeting her. "Wait!" she screamed while waving her hands in a panic. "It's not like that! I didn't mean--!"
Six missiles flew right above Tsukasa's head. They circled around and aimed for this exact same spot once more.
"IN-COM-IIIING!" Heavy yelled as he revved up his minigun Sasha at a safe distance. He set loose a storm of bullets that crossed the missiles' path.
"Get them!" shouted Medic. "Raus, raus!"
    BLAM! BLAM!
Tsukasa pulled her head down as two explosions went off just above her. "...Uh, wha?" she asked as the storm of bullets stopped and Heavy gave a short laugh.
"Keep it up!" said Medic. He then silently watched what would come next.
Sniper was still at stage right. "Wicked!" he cheered, pumping his fist into the air.
"Do not worry. Everything's fine," reassured a nearby quiet, stoic voice. Sniper turned to his left and saw Yuki Nagato standing beside him.
    "Crikey!" reacted Sniper.
"Here," said Yuki. She pointed into the air. Sniper placed his rifle's scope to his eye and aimed in the direction she pointed in.
Haruhi's visual alias appeared on the inhibitor's screen. "What's up, Yuki?" she asked curiously. "How'd you end up back there?"
    Kshzzzt.
Through his scope, Sniper saw a missile pass above Tsukasa... which stopped in midair and flipped around. As the missile started moving from its slower white end, another missile rammed into it, destroying them both.
    B-BLAM!
Tsukasa turned away in a slight panic and covered her eyes.
Sniper only heard little about Yuki and her... technological prowess, as it were. He assumed she modified the missile to stop on its own and made the other missile ram into it.
    "Good on ya!" Sniper cheered.
    "No problem," Yuki replied.
There were two of those strange missiles left, and Sniper was in the right state of mind to take out at least one of them. He quickly located another missile headed for Tsukasa, and kept it in his sight.
    "Steady, steady!" he said.
    Kzzzzz-BLAM!
The missile exploded, but Sniper didn't take the shot. He realized that the electric noise that destroyed that missile came from somewhere to his left. He moved his rifle down.
Yuki began to walk in front of the Sniper and past stage right.
"Well, I'll be stuffed!" called Sniper as he waved at the left side of the concrete seating. "This is going to be a real piece of p-ss!"
A woman, with red hair in a long ponytail, and a scarf, stepped backwards from behind the seating, while holding her rifle in her hands. "Ahh, you think so, do you?" she asked amusingly. Her name was Yoko. She wore two yellow pins and a skull-shaped accessory in her hair, and was dressed in what Spy called "Daisy Dukes and a bikini on top". The rifle she used had a more complex scope, and seemed to run off an electric box at its shoulder rest.
Medic seemed overjoyed. "Ha ha ha! Oktoberfest!"
Pyro did not understand his reaction at all. "No," he replied.
Zoey appeared onscreen again. "Ooh-kay, big rifle," she said, noting that her rifle was really long compared to its user.
Yoko had finished reloading. "Mm-hmm," she agreed. She then turned to her right. "Take a good look," she told Sniper.
    "Okay," he replied.
Yoko placed her rifle at the ready, as she heard a quiet maniacal chuckle from Soldier. She peeked to her left in disgust, but she had no time to worry about him.
    "Incoming!" she heard Sniper yell.
The last missile rocketed in from the distance, right at Tsukasa herself. But Yoko was ready.
    Kzzzzz-BLAM!
A thin white light flew right at the missile and destroyed it. Tsukasa moaned, but quickly stood up and waved at Yoko.
"Now that is how it's done!" cheered Sniper.
Tsukasa turned to her left and saw a girl with shoulder-length mint-green hair and shy blue eyes walk slowly toward her. Her name was Minami. Although a quiet and reserved girl, she was normally often seen with Yutaka. However, some circumstances, which even she didn't know about, prompted her to find Tsukasa.
"Are you all right?" Minami asked softly.
Tsukasa nodded. "What's up?" she asked.
Heavy, who was watching the action from a closer position to the stage, laughed happily as Sniper cheered from the stage. Heavy munched on his Sandvich. "Nom nom nom, om nom."
"Preparations complete," Yuki said as she walked over to Tsukasa and Minami.
"We did it! We did it! We did it!" Yoko cheered as she skipped over to the other three.
    "Thanks a lot!" said Tsukasa.
    Yuki nodded.
"But..." Minami began as she tapped her chest and looked at Yoko enviously. "Still, I'm not happy about it."
"I don't think any more of them are gonna come today," Yoko reassured Tsukasa, referring to the strange missiles.
Yuki was not convinced. "There is no evidence," she began.
However, the sound of a "whoop- wah- wah-hah!" prompted confused looks from the four of them.
Spy had also arrived, but stayed at a distance. He uncloaked and muttered, "Oh no..."
"Yo, there's a dinger for ya!" Scout called.
"This is getting old really fast," sighed Yoko.
"What are you talking about?" asked Tsukasa.
As a red-haired girl was sneaking past behind him again, Scout stifled his laugh. He nodded to the beige anthropomorphic rabbit wearing an orange dress standing beside him.
The rabbit nodded her head as she spoke in a feminine voice. "You guys are so amazing! We'll have to start practicing harder than ever now. Oh, but please go easy on us!"
However, Tsukasa realized that this rabbit, who was named Cream the Rabbit, had a similar voice, if not the exact same voice as she had! Her face fell into shock. Then, she suddenly blurted. "Aaah!" She collapsed to her knees. Yoko and Minami gasped, and Yuki silently walked over as the three of them bent down to comfort Tsukasa.
"I can't believe you'd be so blunt about it!" moaned Tsukasa.
"You-- you just know?" asked Yoko. She had a feeling of why she, Tsukasa, Yuki, Minami, and now Cream, came together. It must have had something to do with that Vader lookalike from half a year ago meeting her and giving her the impression that he didn't know "who the hell he thought she was". But for the moment, she had to cheer up Tsukasa, somehow.
